Support from EMU Department of Fine Arts to the “Elegie” Concert Organised in Memory of Those Perished in the Earthquake

The Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Arts Education, will support the special "Elegie " concert taking place on 5 May, 2023, at 8:00 p.m., at the Rauf Raif Denktaş Cultural and Congress Center in memory of those perished in the recent earthquake. Composed by Ali Hoca with the lyrics by Tuğrul Enver Töre, the "Elegy" concert will be held with the cooperation of the North Cyprus Turkish Republic Presidential Symphony Orchestra, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Deputy Prime Ministry’s Office, Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, the State Opera and Ballet Coordination Center, Famagusta Municipality, EMU, Othello Choir, and the Champion Angels Association.

Dedicated to to the Champion Angels Team, the concert will feature around 120 performers including the choirs of TRNCCSO, TRNCDOB, EMU Faculty of Education Fine Arts Education Department Music Teaching Program and Othello Polyphonic Choir, soprano Sermin Dikmen Töre and baritone Tuğrul Enver Töre as soloists, Rana Uluçay and Erkan Dağlı as choir conductors, concertmaster Nihat Ağdaç, and Ali Hoca as concert conductor. All members of the public are invited to the concert, which is free of charge and open to the public.
