Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Student Development, Activities and Sports Affairs Directorate organized “New Year Festival” event on Thursday, 25 December 2025 between 03:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. The said event took place at Forum EMU.
The festival was attended by EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç, Vice Rector fo Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Sonuç Zorlu, Vice Rector for Promotion and Institutional Communication Prof. Dr. Ali Öztüren, General Secretary Derviş Ekşici, Student Development, Activities and Sports Affairs Director Cemal Kılıç, many academic staff members, students and visitors.
Alongside the food and beverage stalls, the Festival also featured a New Year’s Market, where a range of products were available for purchase. A wish tree was also placed in the event area, allowing students and visitors to share their New Year wishes. Participants were treated to complimentary coffee provided by Oza Kahve, while music by the Retro Çalgıcıları Group brought a lively atmosphere to the festival. Additionally, the Famagusta Kale Lions Club distributed clothing to students. During a workshop led by Zehra Şonya, Art Coordinator at EMU Arts and Design Center, students created New Year-themed keychains using their own designs. The program also included a performance by DJ BA & BU, and student dance shows further enhanced the festive mood.
Gathering members of EMU together, the New Year Festival offered participants enjoyable moments while also contributing to the festive New Year spirit across the campus. During the event, attendees spent pleasant time accompanied by music and social interaction.
