Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Mathematics’ Distinguished Professor Prof. Dr. Nazim Mahmudov continues to make significant contributions to scientific publishing with the editorial roles he undertakes in prominent international academic journals.
Prof. Dr. Mahmudov serves as a Deputy Editor-in-Chief in the “Applied and Computational Mathematics: An International Journal” featured in the top 25 percentile of scientifric journals indexed by Web of Science – Science Citation Index Exchange (SCIE). The journal, established in 2002 with the joint efforts of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Baku State University’s Institute of Applied Mathematics, and Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies, showcases advanced research in optimization, numerical analysis, mathematical modeling, control theory, and scientific computation, and has been issued quarterly since 2023.
Prof. Dr. Mahmudov also undertakes editorial role in another significant journal titled “Proceedings of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics” appearing in Q2 category and indexed in international databases, particularly; Emerging Sciences Citation Index (ESCI) and Scopus. The open access journal published under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences focuses research studies in both fundamental and advanced mathematics, including analysis, differential equations, algebra, probability theory, mathematical statistics and mathematical physics.
In addition to his other editorial responsibilities, Prof. Dr. Mahmudov serves as an Editor for the Q3-category “Bulletin of Mathematical Analysis and Applications”, which publishes original scholarly work in functional, abstract, and applied mathematical analysis and releases two volumes each year.
Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Mahmudov holds an editorial position at the “TWMS Journal of Applied and Engineering Mathematics”, an ESCI-indexed, Q4-ranked journal. Published monthly as an international, open-access, peer-reviewed online journal, it focuses on applied and engineering mathematics, as well as interdisciplinary mathematical research, featuring research articles, review papers, and technical notes.
