An online seminar titled “Disinformation in the Media” to be organised by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Communication, Department of New Media and Journalism in collaboration with the Embassy of the United States (USA) in Cyprus will host Prof. Dr. Jennifer Thomas.
Having served as executive producer at CNN, Prof. Jennifer Thomas was doing the morning show during the September 11 Terrorist Attack. She is the founder of Thomas Media Ready Consulting, LLC and has been a journalist for more than 20 years, and speaks in the media on international freedom. Also making creative studies on the intersections of women in media and visuals, Prof. Dr. Jennifer Thomas will meet with EMU Communication Faculty students via Zoom on October 14, 2021 at 16:00.
Chair of New Media and Journalism Department Assoc. Prof. Dr. Metin Ersoy stated that they are happy to bring the students together with international names who are experts in their fields and have a high level of experience in industry. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Metin Ersoy also thanked the US Embassy in Cyprus for the value they attach to the issue and their cooperation and also noted that such collaborations broaden the horizons of students as they have the opportunity to discuss current issues in the media.
