Lexicology and Textual Analysis (TRAN137)

It is a course integrated with the three specialized skills of reading, writing and translating. The course introduces students to the study of the lexicon ? words within a language; their structures and analysis of their meaning, the relations that exist between them and the categories in which they fall. It also provides the students? proficiency in using dictionaries in order to encourage independent language explorations and problem solutions. What?s more, by way of text analysis and text-retelling, students will gain knowledge of the stylistic features of texts and improve their reading ability, develop their vocabulary, familiarize themselves with useful structures, and develop basic writing and translating ability.
