Nesim Levi, Retired CEO of Profilo, Delivers a Workshop at EMMU Faculty of Tourism

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Tourism and, Faculty of Business and Economics, Department of Business Administration co-organized a workshop held with the participation of Nesim Levi, retired CEO of Profilo, one of the leading home appliances and electronics brands of Türkiye. The workshop titled “Creativity: Child’s Play” took place on Tuesday, 19 November 2024 at 09:30 a.m. at EMU Faculty of Tourism. 

Receiving great interest from the participants, the event was attended by EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç, EMU Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Osman M. Karatepe and Prof. Dr. Ali Öztüren, Acting Dean of EMU Faculty of Tourism Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mine Haktanır, EMU Faculty of Dentistry’s Dean Prof. Dr. Hikmet Solak, EMU Business and Economics Faculty, Business Administration Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burak Erkut, faculty members, academic and administrative personnel as well as students.

Delivering the opening speech of the event, Acting Dean of Faculty of Tourism Assoc. Prof. Dr. Haktanır expressed their contentment on hosting such a prominent figure like Mr. Levi. EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Kılıç also took the stage and said; “As a higher education institution, our very special responsibility is to build bridges between the sector and the university. Building these bridges hold great significance. Alongside offering theoretical training to our students, we also strive to equip our students with practical skills which they will use following their graduations. Nesim Levi was with us last year as well. In a sense, this event has become a tradition and we are pleased and honoured to have Mr. Levi with us, welcoming him on behalf of my university, my students and academics. We are truly honoured to be here today. We extend our most sincere thanks to you for presence here with us today”.

In his “Creativity: Child’s Play” workshop, Levi underscore the importance of creative thinking in the business world. Talking about the innovative ideas and the effects of innovation processes on business world, Levi shared his experiences on sustainability and customer-oriented approaches. Moreover, Levi presented precious insights on creative thinking and the ways to be successful in the business world. Following the presentation, Prof. Dr. Kılıç presented Levi a silver plate for his contribution to the event. Within the scope of the workshop, participants of the event formed groups and experienced creative thinking methods all together. At the end of the event, certificates were presented to all the participants.
