Operating under Eastern Mediterranean University, Community Involvement Center, Genesis IMC Agency visited Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital Child Oncology Department within the framework of the World Cancer Week taking place between 1 and 7 April 2015.
EMU Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School (FL& EPS) Community Involvement Projects Coordinator academic staff member Mutlu Soykurt and FL& EPS academic staff member Hatice Güneş, a voluntary contributor in the aforesaid event, visited Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital Child Oncology Service. Students from Communication and Media Studies Faculty entertained the children at the oncology department with their stories and a clown show. Along with the activities, the owner of Billy’s Party House Bilay Özgök distributed super hero costumes to children.
Students of EMU Music Teaching Department Dilara Gürtaş and Gizem Geleş and EMU Medical Imaging Techniques Department student Hasan Tahsildaroğulları also entertained the children in the oncology department with a mini guitar and flute concert.
Thanking Eastern Mediterranean University, families of the patients expressed their and their children’s happiness for the organisation.
At the end of the organisation, event organiser Soykurt invited everyone to support children and stated that activities as such will continue in the near future.
