EMU Tourism Faculty Carries Out a Social Responsibility Project in Collaboration with AFİK Group

A new social responsibility project has been added to the social responsibility projects carried out every year in cooperation with the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Tourism Faculty and AFİK Group. In this respect, an activity has been organised for the SOS Children's Village. In the event held as part of EMU Tourism Faculty academic staff member Assist. Prof. Dr. Nazenin Ruso Kandemir's Social Responsibility Organizations course, SOS Children's Village students visited EMU Beach Club as a report card gift. EMU Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department students also showed great interest towards the event. SOS Children's Village students were accompanied by the SOS Children's Village Director, Assistant Directors and instructors working in the SOS Children's Village.

As part of the event, EMU Search and Rescue trainer Muhammed Kağan Gür provided balance training to the students. In order to relieve the tiring school year, the children played many games such as colliding ball by the pool, tug-of-war, golf in the sand, volleyball, spoon game, and throwing activity. Breathing and swimming training was also provided to the students by instructors with diving certificates. During the day-long activities, both SOS Children's Village students and EMU Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department students had a pleasant time.

In his statement, EMU Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr.Hasan Kılıç said that they are extremely pleased with the event held with the cooperation of AFİK Group and EMU and underlined that they will always continue to support such social responsibility projects.

AFİK Group representative Özkan Karaağaç stated that they are very happy to have organized an event in cooperation with EMU. Karaağaç emphasized that thanks to such social responsibility activities leaving happy memories on children, witnessing their happiness and supporting and contributing the children’s wellbeing make them happy.

Thanks to the event, SOS children made a good start to their summer vacation, while EMU Tourism Faculty, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department students got internship opportunities to improve their professional knowledge and skills.
