The EMU Arts and Sciences Faculty Hosts Important Names

Within the scope of the 7th International Career Events hosted by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Alumni Communication and Career Research Directorate (MİKA) the Arts and Sciences Faculty brought their students together with experts from the field.

Ali Ömer Türkeş

As part of the said events, Ayrıntı Publishing House Literary Editor Ali Ömer Türkeş delivered a presentation titled “The Publication Process of Translated Novels and Novel Reviews at Publishing Houses”. The presentation was delivered at the ASA Amphitheatre. Providing information about translation, proofreading, final readings and preparations that take place before typesetting and publishing Türkeş touched upon common mistakes that take place during translation, the wording of the writer and the translator, the translator’s command of the original language and the language he or she is translating to as well as how imagery can be translated. At the end of his presentation Türkeş summarized how he arrived at this point of his career before providing advice to EMU Faculty of Arts and Sciences students.

Deniz Erkal, Selen Üstüner

Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy Center Expert Psychologists Deniz Erkal and Selen Üstüner met with EMU students at the Prof. Dr. Mehmet Tahiroğlu Conference Hall. Expert psychologists Deniz Erkal and Selen Üstüner carried out a workshop titled “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy”. After the said workshop, Erkal and Üstüner summarized how they arrived at this point of their career before providing advice that EMU Faculty of Arts and Sciences students can follow and answering student questions.

Feyzullah Gündoğdu

EMU graduate and Kayseri Transport Inc. General Manager Feyzullah Gündoğdu also delivered a conference within the scope of the Career Events. Gündoğdu obtained a double major from the EMU Arts and Sciences Faculty, Department of Physics and the Engineering Faculty, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 1996 before obtaining his postgraduate degree from EMU Arts and Sciences Faculty, Department of Physics in 1998. During the said event, Gündoğdu delivered a presentation titled “The Future of Transportation”.  At the end of the presentation that attracted great interest, Gündoğdu summarized his career and provided advice for EMU Arts and Sciences Faculty students.
