Turkish Republic Esenyurt University Board of Trustees’ President Prof. Dr. Can İkizler and T.R. Turkish Municipalities Association Chair Mehmet Ali Süren visited EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam on Friday, 16 January 2015. Expressing his pleasure in hosting the aforesaid visitors, Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam provided detailed information regarding Eastern Mediterranean University.
Eastern Mediterranean University Rector Prof. Dr. Osam stated that with a history of 36 years, EMU is the most prominent university in Cyprus. Stressing the ongoing development and enlargement of the university, Prof. Dr. Osam provided information about the student and academic staff profile, campus and infrastructural facilities, faculties and departments. Prof. Dr. Osam also stressed the importance of accreditations for the university and added that the importance the university gives towards accreditations is reflected in the number of accreditations gained by a considerable number of departments within the university.
Prof. Dr. İkizler and Süren thanked EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Osam for his hospitality and expressed their happiness in visiting TRNC and EMU. During the visit, the possibility of prospective collaborations between EMU and Esenyurt University were also discussed. At the end of the visit, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam presented lefkara lace handicrafts to the visitors.
