EMU Signs Collaboration Protocol with Cyprus Science and Intelligence Foundation

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) and Cyprus Science and Intelligence Foundation (KIBZEV) signed a collaboration protocol on Tuesday, 30 May 2023 at 10:30 at EMU Rector’s Office. The protocol was signed by EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın and Cyprus Science and Intelligence Foundation Director Recep Günaydın. With the protocol, it is aimed to improve studies on entrepreneurship, digital transformation, technology and innovation ecosystem.

EMU Arts and Sciences Faculty, Physics and Chemistry Departments’ Chair Prof. Dr. İzzet Sakallı, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre (EMU-GIMER) Chair Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tümer, Department of Chemistry Vice Chair Prof. Dr. Mustafa Gazi, Business and Economics Faculty, Business Department academic staff member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burak Erkut and KIBZEV officials were present during the signing session.

Delivering a speech during the event, Prof. Dr. Hocanın stated that KIBZEV has done very valuable work especially for the development of young people and children, and that he believed that successful work would be carried out between the two institutions with the cooperation protocol to be signed. Stating that EMU, as a state university, does all its efforts to meet all the needs of the society, Prof. Dr. Hocanın expressed that EMU attaches great importance to meeting the needs of all segments of society, not just in terms of quality education and research. Underlining that EMU has sufficient infrastructure and opportunities both in terms of entrepreneurship and science, Prof. Dr. Hocanın emphasized that it is very important for the teacher to have experience in the fields that children and young people are interested in. Underlining that as EMU, they are ready to support activities so that young people and children can benefit from the activities to be carried out, Prof. Dr. Hocanın wished the protocol to be good.

Günaydın also delivered a speech and said that they are happy to cooperate with EMU, emphasizing that as a foundation, they try to carry out studies that will make young people love science and technology. Adding that he believes they will improve the work to be done thanks to EMU, Günaydın stated that they are very happy with the cooperation. Good morning, giving information about the work of the foundation, he wished that the protocol would be beneficial for both institutions.
