EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç Attends “4th Culinary Forum” Held in Antalya

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç attended the 4th Culinary Forum as a guest speaker. Held in Antalya, said event is recognized as one of the most important international gathering of gastronomy world.

Organized under the title “Global Exchange for Culinary Minds” and the theme “XCHANGE,” the forum brought together prominent national and international figures with the aim of enhancing knowledge sharing and academic collaboration in the field of gastronomy. The event featured discussions on industry innovations, recent research, and academic perspectives, creating a valuable platform for the exchange of ideas among participants.

“Island Cuisine Should Be at the Center of the Kitchen, Not Just on Display”

During his address at the forum, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç evaluated the significance of academic research in gastronomy, the importance of strengthening collaboration between universities and the sector, and scientific perspectives that will shape the future of the field. Prof. Dr. Kılıç also touched upon the challenges encountered in presenting island cuisine to visitors. Chairing a panel that discussed ways to preserve and develop local cuisine in the face of international culinary influences, Prof. Dr. Kılıç stressed that island cuisine should not only be displayed but should also occupy a central place in the kitchens of five-star hotels.
