9th Işık Savaşır Clinical Psychology Symposium

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Arts and Sciences Faculty, Department of Psychology is to host the “9^th Işık Savaşır Clinical Psychology Symposium” between the 24^th and 26^th of May, 2019. The symposium will be held in Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center. The symposium that is to be organized in cooperation with Turkish Psychologists Association and Turkish Cypriot Psychologists Association will commence on the 24^th of May, Friday at 9 a.m. Around 60 presenters (mainly from Turkey) who are conducting unique studies on clinical psychology will make presentations during the 9^th Işık Savaşır Clinical Psychology Symposium. The symposium will come to an end on the 26^th of May, 2019, Sunday with the simultaneous working groups of 5 different locations.

Prominent Scientists among the Participants

The statement made by the 9^th Işık Savaşır Clinical Psychology Symposium Organization Board is as follows: “We have specified the theme of the symposium as the frequently used metaphor, “Elephant in the Room”. Under this metaphor, we are aiming to share the known and unknown facts on Clinical Psychology with the leading scientists of the field and pragmatics who are from Turkey. Within this context, we were thrilled when we were informed that the symposium might be organized in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and EMU. We are honored to host the symposium bearing the name of our dear Prof. Dr. Işık Savaşır who has always been remembered with respect both before and after her passing”. All scholars from TRNC are also expected to take a part in the symposium that is predicted to have high participation.
