EMU Represented at The Turkic World Academy’s Uzbekistan Cultural Tour

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) was represented at the “Turkic Academy Uzbekistan Cultural Tour” organized through the collaboration of Genç Memur-Sen, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), and the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).

The program was held following the “Turkic Academy” training process, which took place between 27 October and 20 November 2025 and covered a range of topics including economics, politics, international relations, climate, energy and integration. Among approximately 6,000 participants from 72 countries who successfully completed the training program, those selected for the 50-person quota earned the right to participate in the cultural tour organized in Uzbekistan.

As part of the visit, participants visited the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Uzbekistan, as well as the cities of Tashkent, Urgench, Khiva, Bukhara and Samarkand, where they took part in various cultural and academic engagements. Eastern Mediterranean University was represented in the program by Ali Doğdu, Research Assistant in the Department of Business Administration within the Faculty of Business and Economics.

Throughout the tour, participants were given the opportunity to examine on site the historical and cultural ties of the Turkic world and their development from past to present. Various briefings were also provided on the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Eastern Mediterranean University.
