Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Communication, Department of Public Relations and Advertising students carried out an exemplary social responsibility project as part of PRAD-303 Marketing Communication for Social Responsibility course. Led by Assist. Prof. Dr. Umut Ayman, said project was conducted under EMU Community Involvement Center.
The donation campaign aimed at supporting Lapta Senior Center and the hairdressing service sponsored by Kırık Tarak Kuaför was organized by EMU Public Relations and Advertising Department students Dilayla Çırak, Berk Sefer and Baran Küçükyörük. The said project sought to contribute both to personal care needs and basic needs of the center’s residents.
Within the scope of the event, hairdressing services were offered to the residents of the Lapta Senior Center to support their personal care. Furthermore, donations consisting of essential items collected during the project were handed over to the nursing home administration.
Students of Doğu Akdeniz Doğa Elementary School also made significant contributions to the event. New Year’s cards thoughtfully designed and colored by the students for the nursing home residents brought an emotional and inspiring touch to the event. The sincere messages from the children created moments of joy and hope for the residents.
Organized with a strong sense of social responsibility, the event united participants from different generations, fostering empathy and solidarity. It uplifted the spirits of the Senior Center residents while also enhancing university students’ awareness of social responsibility. Thanks were extended to the EMU Public Relations and Advertising Department students, Doğu Akdeniz Doğa Elementary School students, donors, and all individuals and organizations whose support made the event possible.
