ASHINA TEKNOFEST Team composed of Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) students won second place medal in the TEKNOFEST 2025 Finals Competition, reaching outstanding success. Selected within the top 15 teams among hundreds to compete in the TEKNOFEST 2025 Air Defence Systems Competition organized by T3 Foundation and held in Istanbul on 17-21 September 2025, ASHINA Team brought great pride to EMU and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) with the achievement it obtained in the finals.

EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç and EMU Board of Trustees (VYK) Member Servet Karabacak travelled to Istanbul to support the students, sharing their happiness on their achievement.

Making remarks on the matter, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç said; “I wholeheartedly congratulate our students, their mentors who motivated them and all our staff for this accomplishment. Moreover, I congratulate those who have contributed to the actualization of TEKNOFEST and sincerely commend those who brought this vision to life. We take great pride in the achievements of our students”.

The team, led by EMU Information Systems Engineering third-year student Furkan Batı, is composed of EMU Computer Engineering fourth-year student Cemre Yeşil, EMU Software Engineering second-year student Alper Önder, and EMU Computer Engineering fourth-year student Doğan Efe Çiğdem.
