Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Faculty of Education, Department of Turkish and Social Science Education academic staff and Head of the Centre for Women’s Studies (CWS), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Süheyla Üçışık Erbilen, served as both the editor and a contributing author of “The Geography of the TRNC”. The publication, which comprehensively examines the geography of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) through a scientific perspective, is the first work of its kind in the field.
Prepared through the contributions of 23 academics and consisting of 18 chapters, the publication offers a comprehensive and interdisciplinary examination of the natural, human, economic, and cultural geography of the TRNC, making a valuable contribution to the academic literature.

During a visit to the Rectorate, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Süheyla Üçışık Erbilen presented a copy of “The Geography of the TRNC” to EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç. The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss the book’s development process, scope, and its anticipated contribution to the academic community.
The importance of documenting the TRNC’s geographical heritage through a scholarly publication was underscored during the said meeting. The participants also exchanged views on strengthening academic collaboration among universities.
