The 9th Osman Maraşlı Memorial Tournament which was planned to take place under the organisation of the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Directorate of Sports Affairs has been cancelled in line with the precautions taken against the present pandemic. Having the quality of being the first trio beach volleyball tournament in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), “Osman Maraşlı Memorial Tournament” was planned to take place at EMU Beach Club between the 22 and 23 August 2020. A press statement released by EMU Sports Affairs Directorate reads as follows: “Dear sports players and volleyball lovers, the 9th Osman Maraşlı Beach Volleyball Memorial Tournament has been canceled recently due to the increase in COVID-19 cases in our country. Players who have paid the tournament fee can come with the receipt of payment and receive their refund. Thank you for your understanding”.
