Documentary Making (SVTV371)
This course encourages students to develop their own practice through exercises and projects informed by an exploration of the historical and contemporary evolution of the documentary. In the class, key theoretical formulations of the genre and different forms of documentary will be discussed. Concepts of documentary form will be examined through practical work in order to enable students to articulate a critical and creative approach to the relationship between practice and theory. At the end of this course, students will be asked to create their own documentary projects.
