Eastern Mediterranean University organised a “Welcoming Night” on Friday, 9 October 2015 within the framework of the 18th Orientation and Welcoming Days. Organised under the main sponsorship of North Cyprus Young Turkcell with the purpose of celebrating the arrival of the newly registered students to the university, the “Welcoming Night” hosted promotional desks of Faculties and Schools, as well as various sports competitions, stage performances, recreational activities and concerts at EMU’s Atatürk Square.
The “Welcoming Night” which commenced with the dance and music shows of international student groups operating under EMU’s International Office also hosted the performances of EMU Dance Club, EMU Musical Community, Cyprus Folk Dancing Club and American Football Club. Formed by international students, music band ‘Consonants’ and EMU Music Club brought color to the night with their wonderful songs.
In his address to new students, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam welcomed all students and wished them all the success in their studies. The most important performance of the event was the concert of Buray, who is climbing the success ladder in his career.
During EMU Arts and Sciences Faculty, Music Teaching Department 2005 graduate Buray’s two-hour stage performance, he sang popular songs to music lovers. At the end of the concert, Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Hıfsiye Pulhan presented a plaque of appreciation to Buray.
