TRNC National Association of Nigerian Students Meets in EMU

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) hosted the handover ceremony of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) National Association of Nigerian Students, which represents all Nigerian students on the island. The said ceremony was held at EMU Mustafa Afşin Ersoy Hall. EMU Vice Rector for Social and Cultural Affairs Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu and many Nigerian students from different universities attended the event. Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Dr. İşçioğlu welcomed the new students who came to EMU from Nigeria to study and wished success to the new TRNC National Association of Nigerian Students Leadership who took over the task at a handover ceremony. Prof. Dr. İşçioğlu also underlined that they will always lend a helping hand to students if they have any problems, and emphasized that their doors are always open.

El-Yakub S. Abdullahi, an EMU student who has been elected as the President of the TRNC National Association of Nigerian Students, thanked Prof. Dr. İşçioğlu and her team for the support they provided for the realization of the meeting. At the meeting, the creation of a database of all Nigerian students in the TRNC, establishment of a department belonging to the Association at Ercan Airport, and the establishment of closer ties between students were discussed. After the handover ceremony, the former administration wished success to the new administration.
