Eastern Mediterranean University athlete Tuğba Aydın, who recently achieved outstanding success by scoring a 12.91 point triple jump in the Turkey Adults Athletism Championship nominations which took place at Nicosia Atatürk Stadium also became the champion of Turkey again in the same category at “2016 Athletics İstanbul Indoor Championships” with a score of 12.95 metres, Aydın not only became the champion of Turkey but also gained the right to take part in Balkans Competitions which took place between 19 and 22 February 2016.
Upon her return from the said competition, successful athlete Tuğba Aydın paid a visit of courtesy to EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam. During the visit which took place on 1 March 2016, Tuğba Aydın provided information about the experience she gained in the said competitions and stated that she has worked really hard to achieve her recent successes. Aydın also provided information about the prospective competitions she is planning to take part in and thanked EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam, EMU Sports Affairs Director Cemal Konnolu and her trainer Hasan Maydon for their valuable support.
Prof. Osam expressed his pleasure in witnessing Tuğba Aydın’s successful achievements and stressed the importance of the successful achievements gained in sports for EMU. Prof. Dr. Osam also extended his best wishes to Aydın for her future participation in further competitions.
