Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Tourism Faculty Civil Aviation Cabin Services Program held a practical training seminar on make-up and skin care for students. Making a statement on the subject, EMU Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç stated that the students of the Civil Aviation Cabin Services Program received extensive training on cabin crew responsibiities and they prepared the students for real life by training them in the most effective way.
Esthetician Nazime Karaman, owner of Beauté 2 Dem Wellness Center, provided theoretical information to students and answered questions within the scope of the “Introduction to Cabin Services” course conducted by EMU Tourism Faculty Academic Staff Member Aslı Akı. The second part of the training included practice on skin care and make-up.
Akı stated that the students were trained on personal care, hair and make-up techniques during the training, in which all subjects such as the lifestyle, health conditions, accommodation, body language, communication and diction of the cabin crew were generally discussed. Expressing that the main duties of the cabin crew are to ensure flight safety and security and to provide quality service, Akı emphasized that the cabin crew who are in contact with the passengers during the service process should look well and that the cabin crew who will go to the flight should know how to do their hair and make-up in a short period of time.
Akı also talked about the necessity of skin care training, as the air and pressure in the cabin have negative effects on the skin, so that when students step into their careers, they need to acquire certain qualities in order to be clean, beautiful, well-groomed and neat in front of the passengers on a flight at night. EMU Civil Aviation Cabin Services students, who received hands-on training on skin care and make-up in a short time, expressed that they felt lucky to be educated at EMU, an institution that goes into such details, considers their needs and prepares them for their career.
