Organized under the sponsorship and coordination of Eastern Mediterranean Employees’ Cooperative (EMU COOP) in collaboration with EMU Sports Affairs Directorate, a futsal tournament for university employees took place between the 6th and 9th of November 2017 in Lala Mustafa Paşa Sports Complex. Business and Economics Faculty, Purchasing Unit, Rector’s Office, Cleaning Services Unit, Revolving Fund Unit, Sports Affairs Directorate and Security Unit participated within the tournament.
The champion of the two-day tournament, where 25 minute-long contentious matches were played, was Sports Affairs Directorate. Purchasing Unit won the second place and Business and Economics Faculty was in the third place in EMU COOP Futsal Tournament. In his speech during the Awarding Ceremony, Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam thanked the EMU COOP and Sports Affairs Directorate for their selfless efforts during the tournament and ended his speech by emphasizing the importance of social activities in strengthening of relations between employees. Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. M. Yaşar Özden, Vice Rector for Administrative and Technical Affairs Prof. Dr. Özgür Eren and Vice Rector for International Affairs and Promotion Prof. Dr. Cem Tanova were also present at the ceremony.
