Song from EMU Graduate Makes It to Finals in American Competition

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Communication Faculty, Department of Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design graduate Shahed Mohseni Zonoozi’s   song titled “The Cyprus Station” made it to the finals of the prestigious music competition titled ‘International Songwriting’. The song that was written during Zonoozi’s period of study at EMU competed with 16 thousand other songs to make it to the finals of the United States of America’s prestigious competition.

In the song, Zonoozi describes Cyprus as a station that allows students from all over the world to meet and broadcast to other regions collectively made beautiful songs.

Noting that he wrote the song because of his love for Cyprus and his wonderful memories at EMU, Zonoozi stated that the winner of the said competition will be determined via votes from the public. Zonoozi also asked for support from EMU students and the TRNC. Votes can be placed for Shahed Mohseni Zonoozi via the address http://www.radioairplay.com/voting2017/World%20Music.

Zonoozi had previously been awarded the World Music Bronze Medal at the Global Music Awards in the USA with the track titled “Unrecognized Country”.
