Reception Brings Together Successful Students of EMU Faculty of Architecture

In recent years, Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Department of Architecture has seen a consistent rise in the quality in its education and the number of international students attending the department. The success brought around by the dynamism of the department was recently celebrated with a cheerful and vibrant organization.

The organization brought together students and academic at a historical venue (Buğday Mosque, SS. Peter and Paul Church) located in the Old City region of Famagusta. The event saw high levels of participation from both the students and staff. Successful students of the 2015-2016 Fall Academic Year were presented certificates during the organisation which was also attended by NAAB SE inspectors from America.

The night began with a magnificent musical performance by the second year Architecture student Ozge Pelin Kuyumcu and Architecture Department academician Prof. Dr. Kokan Grchev. Head of the Architecture Department Prof. Dr. Özgür Dinçyürek stated that such events are being attended by a wider array of students and staff each year. He also noted that the shared enthusiasm towards such events is good news for the department. Prof. Dr. Dinçyürek concluded his words by wishing the successful students equal amounts of success in the remainder of their academic and also non-academic lives. Dean of the Faculty of Architecture Prof. Dr. Şebnem Önal Hoşkara also delivered a speech in which she congratulated the students and wished the continuation of their success.

The event came to a close after the honour students and high honour students were presented their certificates by members of the department’s academic staff.
