Proud Achievement of EMU Interior Architecture Department Academic Staff Member

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Architecture, Interior Architecture Department academic staff member Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asu Tozan has been selected to the IFI Insite Editorial team. EMU Department of Interior Architecture, which has been a Educational Member of the International Federation of Interior Architects / Designers (IFI) since 2007, follows the developments within IFI and contributes to the discipline of Interior Architecture on an international scale through many activities it organizes.

Joining the editorial team of the IFI Insite initiative, which was established to encourage the sharing, discussion, research and development of professional issues at global and local scales, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tozan achieved an important success by representing EMU. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tozan stated that she gained the opportunity to work efficiently in a wide network with the IFI Institute initiative, which brings together active professionals from different parts of the world in academic and practical fields. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tozan stated that the said representation aims to contribute not only to the EMU Interior Architecture Department, but also to the practice and research of the Interior Architecture profession in the region through international interaction.

The International Federation of Interior Architects / Designers (IFI) is a non-profit association of associations established in 1963 in Copenhagen, Denmark to unite the profession and act as a forum for interior design issues. It is also the global voice and authority for professional Interior Architects / Designers. IFI, an international federation body for Interior Architecture / Design organizations, acts as a global forum for the exchange and development of knowledge and experience in education, research and practice worldwide. IFI also connects international communities to expand the impact and practice of interior design, promote global social responsibility, and raise the profession's worldwide status.

The organization, which deals with issues related to the profession in many levels, created a brand new sharing platform in 2021 under the name of IFI Insite. IFI Insite ET is an online initiative designed to connect and support the IFI world community and its participants for in-depth exchange of ideas and information. Its aim is to create a vibrant community globally while developing and strengthening synergies between all areas of the Interior Architecture discipline. The platform promotes direct interaction with IFI members and the wider Interior Architecture network. This information exchange platform also encourages research on topics such as new research, social developments, ideas, project typologies / styles and theory. IFI Insite work covers academia, profession and industry together. In addition, it tries to create a significant and long-term positive impact for the Interior Architecture discipline.
