Prestigious Founding Membership from EMU FLEPS

Eastern Mediterranean University Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School (EMU FLEPS) has become a founding member of the Measurement, Evaluation, Testing & Assessment Special Interest Group (METASIG) of the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Turkey, which is recognised as an authority in English language teaching worldwide. EMU is represented by Senior Instructor Elif Çilli, academic staff member of FLEPS, in the activities of the English Language Teaching and Professional Development Association, also known as  TESOL Turkey, which was founded in June, 2017

Making a statement on the subject, EMU FLEPS Director Assist. Prof. Dr. Ramadan Eyyam  stated that TESOL is one of the top organizations English teachers can become a member of. Assist. Prof. Dr. Eyyam added that "Sen. Inst. Elif Cilli representing the EMU FLEPS at TESOL Turkey METASIG as a founding member is a very important achievement in terms of the English language education in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. TESOL Turkey METASIG will organize seminars and workshops on how to further develop education and what can be done in terms of measurement and evaluation at the universities in the TRNC. Different groups will operate under TESOL Turkey. Some of these groups are curriculum development groups or leadership groups in educational administration. Thanks to this important membership, we will be able to effectively follow the latest developments in English language teaching and professional development in the world and integrate the most recent trends into education."

The founding members of TESOL Turkey METASIG are as follows: Esin Çağlayan, Berna Arslan, Mehtap İnce, Pınar Gündüz, Merve Selçuk, Şükran Saygı, Yiğit Savuran, Elif Çilli, Mehmet Türk.
