President of the TRNC Central Bank Held an Informative Meeting for EMU Academic Staff

President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Central Bank Rifat Günay held an informative meeting at the Eastern Mediterranean University. During the said meeting, President Günay provided information about the collaboration protocol between EMU and Central Bank. The meeting which took place at EMU Business and Economics Faculty Meeting Hall was participated by EMU Business and Economics Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Eralp Bektaş, Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz İşçioğlu, TRNC Central Bank representatives, and faculty members. President Günay stated that the protocol aims to carry out research, educational and publication activities within EMU’s and TRNC Central Bank’s joint vision of providing community services and contributing to the TRNC economy.

Joint Research to Be Conducted

In addition to be acting as a serious step towards increasing academic publications to be prepared on the TRNC economy, the protocol is believed to be beneficial for both institutions. Expressing his stafisfaction of working in collaboration with EMU, President Günay stated that with the establishment of a research unit under the Central Bank, they aim to fill the gap in this field and provide academic guidance. In scope of this protocol, aiming to increase the number of joint publications of EMU Faculty members and Central Bank research unit on TRNC economy, the publications sought to contribute to the TRNC economy and the banking sector will be presented awards by the TRNC Central Bank in line with the criteria specified within the scope of the collaboration protocol.
