Ömür Gedik Delivers a Talk on Animal Rights

Within the framework of a talk on animal rights organised by EMU Social and Cultural Activities Directorate, Eastern Mediterranean University hosted journalist, artist and animal rights activist Ömür Gedik. Prior to the start of the talk organisation, Gedik paid a visit of courtesy to EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam.

During the visit, Prof. Dr. Osam provided detailed information about Eastern Mediterranean University with a special focus on Neuter-Vaccinate-Let Live Project. Stating the importance of understanding and helping animals, Prof. Dr. Osam expressed EMU’s determination in protecting and supporting animals.

Expressing her pleasure in visiting EMU, Gedik stated that EMU acts as amodel for other universities regarding Neuter-Vaccinate-Let Live Project. Gedik also added that she quite likes EMU’s vision.

Vice Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Dr. Hıfsiye Pulhan, Rector’s Coordinator Assist. Prof. Dr. Arif Akkeleş, EMU Public Relations and Press Office Acting Director Murat Aktuğralı, EMU Animal Rescue Club Advisor and Neuter-Vaccinate-Let Live Project volunteer Fayka Güresun and EMU Animal Rescue Club Chair Atıl Berk Değirmencioğlu were also present at the said meeting at the ed of which Prof. Dr. Osam presented Gedik a frame made of traditional Cypriot Lefkara Lace.

After her visit to Prof. Dr. Osam, Ömür Gedik delivered a talk on animal rights at EMU Activity Center. During the said organisation, Gedik presented information on their projects on animal rescue with a specific focus on Haçiko Association. At the end of the talk, Prof. Dr. Osam  presented Gedik a plaque of appreciation for her contributions.
