New Postgraduate Program From EMU’s Department of Psychology

The Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Faculty of Arts and Sciences has brought a new postgraduate program to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). The postgraduate program “General Psychology” has been approved by the Higher Education Planning, Accreditation and Coordination Council as well as the Republic of Turkey Council of Higher Education. Applications for the Fall Semester of the 2018-2019 Academic Year have commenced. According to a statement released by the EMU Institute of Graduate Studies and Research, students with an undergraduate diploma can apply for the new postgraduate programs until the 15th of September 2018 via the website http://grad.emu.edu.tr.

Opportunity to become an expert psychologist

The EMU Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Psychology, General Psychology postgraduate program will allow students to specialise by providing current theoretical, empirical and administrative information in social, developmental and cognitive psychology. Graduates of the General Psychology postgraduate program will be able to work as expert psychologists at pre-school education institutions, rehabilitation centres, research centres, universities etc…

Those who didn’t receive an undergraduate education in the field of Psychology are required to be successful in the scientific preparation examination organized by the Department of Psychology Postgraduate Council. The research topics of the department are as follows: Violence at School, Positive Adolescent Development, Positive-Negative Social Behaviour of Adolescents, Endurance, Internet Psychology, Bullying and Exposure to Bullying, Ethics, Epistemology, Cognitive Aging, Cognitive Learning, Neuropsychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Relationship Between Groups, Contact Between Groups, Prejudice and Methods of Reducing Prejudice, Domestic Violence, National Identity, Gender Roles and Sexism.
