Mayor of Çanakkale Ülgür Gökhan, who is currently in the TRNC with the purpose of attending the opening ceremony of the 2nd Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus International Choral Festival taking place between 10 and 16 July 2016, paid a visit of courtesy to EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam prior to the opening ceremony of the said event.
During his visit, Mayor Gökhan expressed his fascination with the university campus and thanked EMU Rector for his hospitality. Gökhan also expressed his happiness in observing the large population of students from Çanakkale region studying at EMU. Gökhan also thanked EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Osam for his interest towards arts and for hosting an organisation at a large scale.
Expressing his pleasure in receiving Mayor Gökhan, Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam thanked Gökhan for participating in the event. Among notable names who were also present at the visit were Çanakkale Deputy Mayor Ali Sürücü, Çanakkale 18 March University and chorus conductor Mete Gökçe, EMU Education Faculty, Fine Arts Education Department, Music Teaching Program academic staff member and chorus conductor Erkan Dağlı and EMU Public Relations and Press Office Acting Director Murat Aktuğralı.
