Libyan and Pakistani Nights at EMU

Organized annually by the Libyan Student Society, Libyan Night took place at the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center. The night included cultural shows, a documentary screening and a promotional video showing Libya’s history.

During the opening speech, Libyan Student Society President Wagdi Kalifa thanked EMU International Office staff for their contributions, giving the promise that they will continue working to ensure that Libyan students uphold University principles and values. In his speech, EMU International Affairs and Promotion Office Coordinator Ozan İnamlık recommended that EMU students continue their work to represent our University in the best way possible.

After the promotional film on Libyan history, a documentary on the life of Libyan national hero Omar Mukhtar was screened and the night ended with cultural music and dance performances from Libyan students. The night was attended by many Libyan students and EMU student societies.

Pakistani Students Meet

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Pakistan Student Society operating under the International Office organized a cultural night at the Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center. The night featured a range of dance performances and local Pakistani music.

During the opening speech, Pakistan Student Society President Usman Aziz welcomed everyone to the night and thanked them for attending. Aziz noted that the celebrations this year are better than last year and thanked EMU administration for creating a platform for international students to display their cultural heritage.

EMU Vice Rector for International Affairs and Promotion Prof. Dr. Cem Tanova welcomed everyone attending the night indicating his desire for them to be good ambassadors in society. Prof. Dr. Tanova advised the students to maintain their cultural values and wished everyone an enjoyable night.
