Famagusta Mayor and Eastern Mediterranean University Board of Trustees’ President İsmail Arter took part in “Kulis”, a TV program prepared by EMU TV in collaboration with Diyalog TV.. During the program which was presented by Alihan Pehlivan, Famagusta Municipality and Eastern Mediterranean University were the topics of discussion.
After evaluating the 8-month period after his appointment as Famagusta Mayor, Arter provided detailed information about past, present and prospective projects. Stressing the importance of Eastern Mediterranean University for Famagusta, Arter put forth that Famagusta and EMU are the two elements complementing each other. Arter also pointed the importance of Famagusta Municipality’s collaborations with EMU and non-governmental organisations.
Stating that Eastern Mediterranean University is TRNC’s most prominent university, Arter added that EMU’s progressive develoment is noteworthy. Arter also talked about EMU’s transformation to a barrier free university and stressed that Famagusta Municipality is planning to adopt the same system throughout Famagusta. Towards the end of the program, Arter talked about the number of historical sites and artefacts in Famagusta as well as the perfect location of the city. Finally, Arter assured that they will do their best to use these advantages for the benefit of Famagusta Community as well as tourism.
