Kokan Grcev Opens an Exhibition in Famagusta

Eastern Mediterranean University Architecture Faculty, Architecture Department academic staff member Prof. Dr. Kokan Grcev launched an exhibition in Famagusta with the support of EMU Architecture Department.

Macedonian architect, artist and specialist of history of arts Prof. Dr. Grcev chose Twin Churches in Famagusta as the venue for his seventh exhibition. The opening of the exhibition which features 16 pieces of Prof. Dr. Grcev’s works attracted intensive interest both from Eastern Mediterranean University and the local community.

Grcev’s interest in arts started in his student years while he was studying architecture. Since then, Grcev exhibited his work both at national and international platforms. Prof. Grcev opened his first exhibition in Rome in 2007.

At the exhibition opening ceremony, Grcev stated his excitement and added that with its intensive historical features, the city of Famagusta has acted as a source of inspiration for him in his artistic productions.

During the opening ceremony, EMU Architecture Department Chair Prof. Dr. Özgür Dinçyürek expressed his pleasure in witnessing Grcev sharing his artistic aspect, along with his academic contributions, with the community.
