International press group visiting the TRNC within the framework of the activites and ceremonies commemorating the establishment of the TRNC paid a visit to Eastern Mediterranean University on 14 November 2014. During the visit, members of the international press group received information about Eastern Mediterranean University and Cyprus conflict during a meeting with EMU Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sözen.
Prof. Dr. Sözen provided detailed information about EMU with a special focus on the international student profile of the university. Stating EMU’s leading position among other universities throughout the island, Prof. Dr. Sözen also provided in-depth information about EMU’s accreditations, scholarship opportunities for international students as well as Cyprus conflict and latest developments. At the end of his presentation, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Sözen answered questions coming from the press group members.
After Prof. Dr. Sözen’s presentation, visiting international press group members from more than 20 countries (Bulgaria, Bangladesh, Portugal, Albany, Qatar, Bahrain, Lithuania, Latvia, Oman, Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Austria, Italy, Hungary, Uganda, Azerbaijan, Germany, the USA and Russia) expressed their fascination with EMU. The aforesaid visit ended with lunch at Tower Restaurant.
