A PhD qualifying exam took place for the first time at the Eastern Mediterranean University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. The faculty which admitted its first PhD students in the 2014-2015 Academic Year, recently started raising expert academicians, who have successfully taken PhD qualifying exams.
In his statement, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Prof. Dr. Mehtap Malkoc noted that the faculty has been constantly growing since the day it was formed and went on to point out that it has taken the first step towards raising qualified academicians as a result of holding the PhD qualifying exam. Prof. Dr. Malkoc stated that the jury of the PhD qualifying exam included Prof. Dr. Tanju Besler, Prof. Dr. Perihan Arslan, Prof.Dr. Seyit Mercanligil, Assist. Prof. Dr. Seray Kabaran and Assist. Prof. Dr. Ceren Gezer, all of whom are members of staff from Department of Nutrition and Dietetics. Finally, Prof. Dr. Malkoc noted that following their successful exam, senior dietitians Nezire Ince, Fatma Hulyam Eren and Sultan Nazif are scheduled to start work on their thesis with guidance from Prof. Dr. Tanju Besler.
