EMU’s Toles Success

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) once again hosted the ‘The Test of Legal English Skills’ (TOLES). A total of 15 candidates from Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) sat for the test which was held at EMU, the TRNC’s oldest test centre.  The test took place on the 27th of June 2019 and the test results were announced on Friday, the 23rd of August 2019. The exam results revealed that EMU’s candidates were significantly successful.

“I am Proud of You All”

TOLES Coordinator Peril S. Emiroğluları who operates from the EMU Faculty of Law congratulated the successful candidates by stating: “Finally we have received the good news. The TOLES Exam results have been announced. Firstly, I would like to congratulate all candidates who showed courage to participate in this international exam and I would like to specifically thank the students who obtained the top three grades. I am proud of you all”.  The students with the top three grades are as follows: Batuhan Altıntaş (81 – Excellent), İlayda Durmaz, Evrim Eren and Feza Kılgın (76 – Very Good), Ece Akın and Ecem Özada (73 – Very Good).

The TOLES Exam that has been held since 2012 as a result of EMU Foreign Language and English Preparatory School, EMU Faculty of Law and EMU Continuing Education Centre’s collaboration provides candidates with domestic and overseas job opportunities. The exam is taken by lawyers and translators who work in the TRNC and Turkey.
