EMU’s International Night Hosted Colorful Shows

Organised annually by the International Office operating under the Vice Rector’s Office for Promotion with the aim of enhancing inter-cultural communication and interaction among students , this year’s International Night took place at EMU Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center.

During the event, students of Eastern Mediterranean University from 120 different countries promoted their cultures through traditional clothes in a colorful environment.  The event also hosted various stands set up by international students promoting their culture and food as well as cultural and local dance shows including Iranian live music and dance show, Turkish folk dance show, Kazakh traditional songs and video screening, North African video and clothing show, Iraqi songs and dance show, Palestinian songs, dance shows from Turkmenistan, Pakistan, Eritre, Nigeria, Azerbaican, Yemen, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Egypt, Syrian piano and song performance and Jordan music performance. At the end of the night, students from all countries took the stage and sang songs together.

During the event which attracted a crowded group of participants, Vice Rector for Promotion Prof. Dr. Hasan Amca delivered a speech. Prof. Dr. Amca stated that as a high quality institution of higher education, EMU is celebrating its 36th anniversary.   Prof. Dr. Amca added that the university provides 19,000 students from 120 countries study opportunities at international standards and an enriched campus life in an international environment.
