EMU Urban Development and Research Center Publishes the First Issue of Its Academic Journal

The first issue of the academic journal titled “Journal of Urban Research and Development - JURD” prepared by Eastern Mediterranean University Urban Research and Development Center (EMU URDC) has been published. JURD, an international and multidisciplinary refereed academic journal, is published by EMU Publications on behalf of EMU URDC. Featuring academic articles that examine the concerns of cities and urban development in the past, present and future across a wide range of disciplines, JURD accepts both quantitative and qualitative research. JURD awaits contributions from academics working on modern, comparative urban perspectives and case studies.

A message shared on the social media account of EMU URDC reads as follows: “We are pleased to announce that the first issue of “Urban Research and Development Journal JURD has been published. The journal, which is online-open access, can be accessed at https://ojs.emu.edu.tr/index.php/jurd ”.

A statement in the first issue of JURD written by  EMU URDC Chair Prof. Dr. Şebnem Hoşkara and EMU URDC Executive Board Member Prof. Dr. Naciye Doratlı, both of whom are EMU Faculty of Architecture academic staff and editors-in chief, and Assistant Editors EMU URDC Vice Chairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nevter Z. Cömert and Asst. Prof. Dr. Pınar Uluçay and EMU URDC ExecutiveBoard Member Assist. Prof. Dr. Müge Rıza reads as follows: “Potential studies to be published in this journal will also contribute to discussions on the future success or failure of sustainable development goals. We hope you enjoy the first issue of JURD and find it inspiring and effective. We invite all relevant researchers and academics to contribute to the future issues of our new periodical JURD, with their research, in order to create a platform of discussion on issues pertaining to urban development ”
