EMU-SCT Visits Dr. Fazıl Küçük Industrial Vocational High School

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) School of Computing and Technology (SCT) organized visits to the Dr. Fazıl Küçük Industrial Vocational High School with the aim of increasing vocational collaboration, informing students and bringing the two schools closer together.

Mustafa İlkan

EMU-SCT Director Prof. Dr. Mustafa İlkan delivered a seminar to students from all departments of the school. During the seminar titled “Opportunities and Orientation in Vocational Education” Prof. Dr. İlkan touched upon the importance of vocational education and future projects as well as opportunities, resources and advantages of studying at EMU-SCT. During his talk, Prof. Dr. İlkan stated that vocational high school graduates can sign up for EMU-SCT’s 2 year programs without passing an exam and that all students who do this will be able to continue their education with state scholarship as a result of the “vocational education development” project. Underlining that studying with a scholarship is a significant advantage in today’s difficult economic climate Prof. Dr. İlkan indicated that the continuation of scholarships until graduation is dependent on success.

Stating that program diversification of vocational high school programs is important Prof. Dr. İlkan noted that they are ready to collaborate and cooperate with these high schools. Noting that all vocational, industrial vocational and business high schools are EMU and EMU-SCT’s sister schools Prof. Dr. İlkan stated that they operate with common goals.

Kamil Arifoğlu

Dr. Fazıl Küçük Industrial Vocational High School Principle Kamil Arifoğlu stated that collaboration is important and that they are happy to be collaborating with EMU to develop vocational education in the country. Arifoğlu also emphasized that they will be working with EMU-SCT to establish new fields of education at their school.

Ece Çelik

EMU-SCT Electrical and Electronics Technology and Biomedical Equipment Technology Program Coordinator Asst. Prof. Dr. Alper Doğanalp, Construction Technology and Mapping and Cadastral Survey Program Coordinator Asst. Prof. Dr. Ece Çelik and Computer Programming Program Coordinator Academic Staff Member Akile Oday provided extensive information to students about their programs, answering any questions directed towards them.
