Making statements on the subject, EMU SCT Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nazife Dimililer said: “It has been information technologies creating and managing the information age and the globalizing world. We have seen more clearly our dependence and need on information technologies, both in meeting our daily needs and in performing our profession, especially during the period when we were confined to our homes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Information technologies, developing more and more and growing rapidly and intertwined with all other sectors, is a field that hosts many of the future professions such as security specialist, data analyst, artificial intelligence and software specialist. SCT, one of the oldest units of EMU, has been providing education in the field of computers since 1979. Hosting the first Computer Technology and Information Systems undergraduate program established in our country, SCT has expanded the range of services it provides to the education sector by obtaining YODAK and YÖK approval for the master's program with thesis, in addition to the existing non-thesis master's program in this field.

The expert and competent teaching staff of the Information Technologies graduate program, which has a flexible academic nature, constantly follows both sectoral and scientific innovations. In this way, we not only provide our students with the most sought-after qualifications in the sector, but also enable them to engage in very valuable scientific studies. The expertise and research areas of our strong and experienced academic staff cover many areas such as operating systems and computer networks, data security, machine learning, software engineering and project management, data modeling and analysis. It is very important for us that all our graduates have up-to-date practical skills and a strong theoretical background. In the rapidly developing IT sector and due to the integration of informatics into all fields, there are wide job opportunities for our graduates in all other sectors. In addition, thanks to the research skills gained in our thesis program, it is possible for our graduates to start their careers as academics and researchers one step ahead. We welcome researchers who want to improve themselves, specialize and make a difference in the field of Information Technology, which programs the future.”
