EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın’s Working Journalists’ Day Message

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Rector Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın released a message about 10 January Working Journalists’ Day. Prof. Dr. Hocanın included the following statements in his message:

“Journalism is undoubtedly one of the professions that require the highest devotion. Journalists have undertaken the duty to convey information to the society in the most accurate and fastest way through chasing news day and night while we are sitting comfortably in our homes. Despite the difficult conditions of their profession, they serve regardless of the concept of overtime.

The Working Journalists' Day has been observed since 10 January 1961. On behalf of EMU, I wholeheartedly congratulate all journalists who fulfill their duties devotedly under all circumstances, wish them all a beautiful future in which they will be able to fulfill their profession within the scope of freedom of the press and see more of the value they deserve. I also wish God's mercy on all journalists who passed away. "
