Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), Communication Faculty, Public Relations and Advertising Department organized a cultural trip aimed towards introducing the Cypriot culture.
The route of the trip that was also attended by EMU Public Relations and Advertising Department Chair. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anıl Kemal Kaya and Vice Chair Asst. Prof. Dr. Umut Ayman was Güzelyurt and Yeşilırmak. As part of the trip the Morphou Archaeology and Nature Museum, the Agios Mamas Church and Icon Museum, the Soli Ruins and Yeşilırmak’s strawberry fields were visited.
The trip that aimed to introduce North Cyprus’ historical locations to particularly international students garnered a great deal of interest. Students witnessed places they hadn’t seen before, obtained information about Cyprus and photographed the historical locations. After eating lunch at the Yeşilırmak Picnic area those attending the trip travelled to the strawberry fields in Yeşilırmak, where they picked strawberries.
Department Chair Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kaya stated that culture trips will become a tradition carried out each semester as the organization was met by student satisfaction.
