Eastern Mediterranean University organised a graduation reception for 2015 – 2016 Academic Year Fall Semester graduates and their families. The organisation which took place at Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center received intensive interest from graduating students and their families. Along with graduating students, members of the North Cyprus Graduates Foundation from Ankara also attended the event.
Attended by EMU Rector, Vice Rectors, Deans, Department Chairs, Academic and Administrative staff members, the reception commenced with a cinevision screening prepared by EMU TV. After the cinevision screening, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam welcomed all graduates and families and expressed the university’s pride and honor in hosting a meaningful organisation as such.
Stating that the day of graduation is the time students’ efforts bear fruit, Prof. Dr. Osam highlighted his confidence in the prospective successes of the graduating students. At the end of his address, Prof. Dr. Osam extended his best wishes to all graduates.
Following the opening address of EMU Rector, the opening of the exhibitions entitled ‘Famagusta Engravings’ organised by EMU Fine Arts Club under the curatorship of Ayhatun Ateşin and ‘Once upon a Time’ organised by the students of the Communication and Media Studies Faculty as part of the course delivered by academic staff member İsmail Gökçe took place. After the exhibition openings, the guests spent colorful moments with the unique performances of EMU Folk Dancing Community, International Choir, music group ‘Consonants’, and EMU Education Faculty, Fine Arts Education Department, Music Teaching Program academic staff member Serkan Çankaya and his group.
The graduation reception finished with graduation cake cutting.
