EMU Organised a Dance and Music Festival for Famagusta Special Education Center

Taking place under the coordination of Eastern Mediterranean University Community Involvement Center Executive Board Member Dr. Nazenin Ruso and with the participation of EMU Tourism Club sudents, a dance and music festival aiming to raise funds for Famagusta Special Education Center took place at Rauf Raif  Denktaş Culture and Congress Center.

Prior to the start of the event, guests were welcomed by international students dressed in their traditional clothes playing the saxophone next to the stand set up by the International Office at the entrance hall. Following the opening address of the director of Famagusta Special Education Center Emirali Evcimen, the event started with a ront show by Eastern Mediterranean University’s national wrestler Davut Demir and students of Famagusta Special Education Center.   Following the ront show, the audience enjoyed colorful dance performances of EMU Dance Community, MOD Dance Group, Azerbaijan National Dance Group, Eldar and Natalia Salsa Group, Russian National Dancers and Rumba Dancers. Xenia Klosova from Ukraine, Yasaman Behsad from Iran, Davia Ogloblina from Russia and Miraç Kayan from Turkey cheered the audience with their songs. The event also hosted piano and dance performances of the students of Famagusta Special Education Center and Eastern Mediterranean University. Hosting international students from about 20 countries,  the event formed a platform for cultural exchange. Along with EMU Tourism Club, EMU Community Involvement Center, International Office and Community Services Club contributed to the event. Funds raised during the dance and music festival were donated to Famagusta Special Education Center.
