EMU Offers Workshops For High School Students

The Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) is offering workshops for high school final year students receiving education within the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Targeted towards over 1800 high school students, the said workshops commenced at various academic units in EMU between 09:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on 18 December 2017.

On the first day of the workshops, students from the Nicosia region studying at the Bülent Ecevit Anatolian High School, Nicosia Turkish High School, Anatolia Fine Arts High School, Turkish Maarif College, 20 Temmuz Science College, Haydarpaşa Bussiness School, Atatürk Vocational High School, Sedat Semavi Vocational High School, Levent College, TED College, Haspolat Vocational High School, Hala Sultan Divinity College and from the Famagusta region studying at the Famagusta Vocational High School and  Dr. Fazıl Küçük Industry Vocational High School attended the organization. Students were grouped according to their prospective career choices and will attend workshops along with expert faculty members.

The workshops will continue with the participation of students from  the Morphou, Kyrenia and Lefke regions studying at the Lapta Yavuzlar High School, Anafartalar High School, 19 May Turkish Maarif College, Morphou Turkish Maarif College, Kurtuluş High School, Cengiz Topel Vocational High School of Industry, Morphou Vocational High School, Lefke Gazi High School and students from the Famagusta, İskele and Karpaz regions studying at Famagusta Turkish Maarif College, Namık Kemal High School, Famagusta High School of Trade, Doğa College, Polatpaşa High School, Cumhuriyet High School, Bekirpaşa High School, İskele High School of Trade, Erenköy High School and Karpaz Vocational High School and students from the Nicosia region studying at Değirmenlik High School.

Taking place under 39 different topics, the workshop sessions aim to help high school students to explore and develop their existing skills and talents. Among workshop topics are Machine Adjustment, Cutting Pieces with CNC Worktop, Application in the Electrical Car Manufacturing Laboratory, 3 Phase System Application, Robot Assisted Production and Optimization Application, Floor Tightening Experiments, Game Programming with Alice 3.0, Cyprus Problem, Economics, Physics Department understanding the change of Mechanic Energy principles- Roller Coaster,  Chemistry Department-Acid-Base-Titration, Advertising Translation and Localization, 10th Silver Screen Days; Audiovisual Translation,  Cognitive Psychology, Polymerase Chain Reaction, Law Education, Urban Landscape,  Architecture  Sunshade Design, Living Spaces, Modern Structure Systems, Making Your Furniture, Filming in Artificial Environments, Social Media Photography, Advertising Kitchen and Dancing with Brands, Awareness Activity (Special Education), Beyond a University Diploma- Multiple Intelligence and Career Choices, Creative Thinking and Esthetics, I am Taking My Own Video (Video Development), Body Music or Student Concert, Body Mass Control Evaluation, Cooking Methods and Unfavorable Conditions for Healthy Nutrition,  Muscular Strength and Balance Evaluation, Fundamental First Aid, Drug Synthesis and Analysis, Introduction to Clinical Application: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (heart massage), The Importance of Biochemical Analysis and Practical Examples (blood and urine analysis), Cuisine, Social Media and Security, Small Project Application with 3D Autocad, Animation Techniques and Applications.
