EMU is Continuing to Accept Students for Graduate and PhD Programmes

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) will be accepting students from TRNC nationality to its graduate and doctorate programmes carried out by EMU Institute of Graduate Studies and Research for the Spring Semester of the 2013-2014 Academic Year. According to the information given from the EMU Rector’s Office students will be accepted into a total of 71 programmes consisting of 17 PhD, 30 Master’s with Thesis and 24 Master’s without Thesis all accredited by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK). It was emphasized that candidates applying for master’s degree should have an undergraduate degree; and those applying for PhD programmes should have a master’s degree. Those applying for English-medium instruction programmes should present an English Proficiency certificate such as TOEFL or its equivalent. The candidates who cannot provide a certificate for English Proficiency requirements will be given the two-stage English Proficiency Test organized by the English Preparatory School on February 19th, 26th 2014 and March, 5th 2014.

It was announced that application can be made online from http://emu.edu.tr/applyonline latest by February 10th 2014; and detailed information about the application procedures and the programmes can be asked from Institute Directorate (Tel: 0392 630 1157) or Registrar’s Office Directorate.

Faculty of Engineering:

Electrical and Electronic Engineering PhD or Master’s with Thesis; Civil Engineering PhD and Master’s with Thesis; Mechanical Engineering PhD and Master’s with Thesis; Computer Engineering PhD and Master’s with or without Thesis; Industrial Engineering PhD and Master’s with or without Thesis; Engineering Management Master’s without Thesis.

Faculty of Architecture:

Architecture PhD and Master’s with or without Thesis; Interior Architecture Master’s with or without Thesis; Urban Design Master’s with Thesis.

Faculty of Arts and Sciences:

Physics PhD and Master’s with Thesis; Chemistry PhD and Master’s with Thesis; Applied Mathematics and Computer Sciences PhD and Master’s with Thesis; Mathematics PhD and Master’s with Thesis; Developmental Psychology Master’s with or without Thesis; Information Systems Master’s without Thesis.

Faculty of Education:

English Language Teaching PhD and Master’s with or without Thesis; Curriculum and Instruction (Turkish) Master’s with Thesis; Early Childhood Education (Turkish) Master’s with or without Thesis; Information and Communication Technologies in Education Master’s with or without Thesis; Psychological Counselling and Guidance (Turkish) Master’s with Thesis.

Faculty of Business and Economics:

Discount for Public Employees

Additionally, all TRNC public employees who would like to register to the master’s and PhD programmes in the Spring Semester of the 2013-2014 Academic Year will get a 20% discount on their tuition fee. It is aimed to contribute to the personal development and thus, to the development of the overall human labour in the country with the 20% discount to be applied to all public employees who are accepted into the EMU Master’s and PhD programmes.

Programmes to be carried out in Nicosia

According to the announcement from the EMU Rector’s Office, an alternative will be provided for the people who are living in or around Nicosia and also working and would like to study at Master’s or PhD level by carrying out some of the graduate programmes of the Faculty of Business and Economics in Nicosia. Thus, Banking and Finance (Turkish) Master’s without Thesis; Business Administration (Turkish) Master’s with and without Thesis;, Managerial Economics (Turkish) Master’s without Thesis; Financial Economics (Turkish) Master’s without Thesis will be offered in Nicosia.
