EMU Introduces a Photography Exhibition Titled ‘Animal Friends on Campus’

Introducing the firsts on the island with its animal friendly campus, Eastern Mediterranean University continues to support our animal friends. Within the scope of civic involvement activities, EMU Faculty of Communication re-opened a photography exhibition titled “Animal Friends on Campus’. The said exhibition formerly met animal lovers for the first time with its inauguration on 4 October 2018. Organised under the supervision of EMU Communication Faculty academic staff member Mert Yusuf Özlük and within the scope of Basic Photography course, the exhibition is comprised of photos of campus animals taken by students taking the aforesaid course. 36 photos selected from 250 shots taken as part of the students’ mid-term and final projects are ready to meet animal-lovers at the exhibition at EMU Faculty of Communication.

The Exhibition will be Open until 5 January

EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Osam, Communication Faculty Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Agah Gümüş and Polatpaşa Elementary School instructor Şirin Zaferyıldızı, faculty members and many students attended the exhibition opening. Proceeds of the photography exhibition launched within the scope of EMU KAY (Neuter, Vaccinate and Let Live) Project will be used towards stray animals. The exhibition opened in memory of the late photography doyenne Ara Güler also hosted a certificate ceremony during which participating students were presented with certificates of appreciation.
