EMU International Summer School Continues

Each year, the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) International Summer School is organized by the Vice Rector in charge of International Relations and Recruitment. This year, the Summer School which is being attended by students from many different countries aims to provide students with quality education whilst bringing them together with a range of social activities.

As part of the Summer School sponsored by Turkish Airlines, students receive courses on a number of different subjects. The duration of the Summer School varies between 2 weeks and 3 months. The courses which include students from many different countries (Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Libya, Turkey, Georgia, Iran and Azerbaijan) and of many different ages are arranged according to levels of English language. The summer school also includes courses to improve English language, internships and short-term education programs.

Learning and Having Fun

Following the courses which take place in the morning, students attend daily attractions and dynamic activities taking place at the EMU Beach Club and various other locations on campus. In the evenings, multicultural nights are organized which allow participants to share their culture. Other activities such as cinema night and dance shows also organized for cultural exchange.

Those participating in the Summer School are also taken on city tours that allow them to witness Cypriot culture first hand. Shopping days are organized which allow students to contribute to the city’s economy. The Summer School is set to continue until the end of September.

Ozgur Tascıoglu Guler, Coordinator of the International Summer School stated that bringing together different cultures based on education is of the utmost importance, whilst highlighting the fact that registration for the EMU International Summer School is increasing each year.
